Tamos Roch was a Vexillary in the Imperial Fists Legion, who took part in the Horus Heresy's Siege of Terra.[1a]

History

He was among the Imperials who were able to retreat within the Sanctum Imperialis, as the Imperial Palace was overrun by Warmaster Horus' Traitor forces. Once inside, Roch was made one of Praetor-Captain Honfler officer line deputies[1c] of his twenty[1b] Denial Companies that were given to the Praetor-Captain to command by the War Court.[1c] These were patchwork Companies of Legionaries who had also made it into the Sanctum Imperialis and the Denial commanders were sent to guard certain sections of the Delphic Wall. It served as a final defense against the Traitors trying to invade the Sanctum and Roch and his fellow deputies Aerim Lur and N'nkono Emba, aided Honfler in this task. However the Praetor-Captain's Companies did not take an active part in the defense. Following orders laid down by his Primarch, Dorn, Honfler instead held them in reserve until the section of the Wall his Companies defended was breached or scaled atop of by the Traitors.[1b]

Once it became clear the Delphic Wall would fall to Horus' forces, though, the Denial Companies were withdrawn by the War Court into the Sanctum Imperialis, to prepare for its invasion. They were then separated into groups of Companies, who would be commanded by Honfler or his deputies as they protected certain sections of the Sanctum. Roch would defend the Marnix Confluence with five Companies, which included Hemheda Khan's Denial 774 and Nassir Amit's Denial 963.[1c] By that point, though, Terra had become so infused by the Warp,[1d] that the Traitor forces were able to materialize within the Sanctum Imperialis. The Denial Companies and other Imperials within the Sanctum were thus caught off guard, when they suddenly became attacked by the Traitors, even though its doors were still sealed.[1e] In the fighting that followed, the Denial Companies suffered heavy losses and Roch would be among those who lost their lives at the Traitors' hands.[1f]
