The Reborn are a Chaos Space Marine warband which is noted for having heavily corroded armour and using very old, almost antiquated weaponry. The first sighting of them was reported in 795.M40.[1]
Known actions
- 577.M41: Death of Cygnax — When the important Imperial world of Cygnax fell into civil war due to the rebellion of heretical death cults, the Reborn intervened on the side of the insurgents. In turn, the Mantis Warriors landed to assist the Imperial loyalists. With the backing of the Reborn, however, the death cults seized Cygnax's massive arsenal of atomic and plasma weaponry and unleashed it to kill every living being on the planet. The loss of Cygnax destabilised the entire Maelstrom Zone for decades.[2a]
- 640-651.M41: Scourge Campaign — The Reborn suffered massive losses in this conflict, especially when they were cornered by the Imperial Maelstrom Warders at Taskar's Wound. There, the Mantis Warriors took bloody revenge for their defeat at Cygnax.[2b]
