Tome of Karebennian
The Tome of Karebennian was a legendary guidebook containing a description of routes to the Black Library of Chaos written by the Eldar Harlequin Solitaire Karebennian. The book was stolen from Karebennian by the Prodigal Sons Chaos Space Marine Sorcerer Ahriman.[1a]
History
It is said to contain a description of how individuals can take a route through the Webway in order to reach the fabled Black Library itself. The tome was written by the Solitaire Karebennian,[1a] and rumours of its existence were known to Magnus the Red.[1a] The tome was stolen from Karebennian by Ahriman, who used it to locate the Arcadian Librarium on Arcadia in which he sought to find the location of the Sword of Lanthrilaq.[1a] The book was a red herring, and could only lead those who followed its charts to Arcadia and the waiting Harlequins of Arcadia and away from the library.[1c]
Ahriman left a hand-written copy behind after using it to locate a hidden Webway Portal within the Etiamnun Reclusium. The Blood Ravens Chapter were made aware of the book when they came across it sometime around 800.M41 during the sacking of the Reclusium on Etiamnun III by the Sorceror Mordant Hex,[2] the Reclusium itself having been ancient site of a Webway Portal bequeathed to the Imperium by the Eldar of Altanzar for protection before the Craftworld was lost in the Eye of Terror.[1b] The tome was recovered by the Secret Order of Psykana and destroyed.[1b]
