Torval Wyrdbane
Torval Wyrdbane, the Shadow Wolf,[1c] is the Wolf Lord of the Space Wolves Chapter's Duskwolves Great Company and he wields the blade Vorskyr.[1b]
History
Said to have earned and chosen his last name well, Wyrdbane is also known to be gifted with a wolf's low cunning. He was originally part of the Wolf Lord Vorek Gnarlfist's Wolf Guard, until Gnarlfist was killed in a battle with the Thousand Sons Traitor Legion. Wyrdbane was chosen as his successor and the new Wolf Lord pridefully chose[1b] the ill omened Spirit Wolf as a sigil,[1a] dismissing any curse or fate it was said to have. He then renamed the Iron Wolves as the Duskwolves and led them against the Thousand Sons to avenge Gnarlfist's death. They were victorious and in the battle's aftermath, the Wolf Lord began answering pleas of aid from Imperial worlds that were being invaded by the forces of Chaos.[1b] This eventually led the Duskwolves to the blighted Stygius Sector, which had largely fallen to a Chaos invasion. Wyrdbane now strikes at its fringes and provides hope to the outnumbered and cut off Imperial forces, that are still fighting within the Sector. Since his arrival, the Wolf Lord has taken the heads of at least four of the Thousand Sons' Sorcerers, with the most notable being Kayesh Vrall. This occurred as the Duskwolves successfully purged the corrupted Stygius world, Kalimvar.[1c]
