Trask was a Lexicanium in the Ultramarines Legion, who took part in the Horus Heresy.[1b]

History

He fought in the Horus Heresy's Battle of Tallarn and was part of the Imperial reinforcements, that broke through the blockade the Traitors had around the besieged world. Their efforts to deploy on Tallarn were spearheaded by the Ultramarines' Drop Pods and the Space Marines would then secure a dropsite for the additional reinforcements to land upon. Once the Ultramarines emerged from their Drop Pods, they were greeted by the Legio Astorum Princeps Marnoc, whose Warlord Titan Fortunata Imperiatrix[1b] had escaped from the failed defense of Rogsburg, which had fallen to the Traitors.[1a] The Princeps believed the city could be retaken with the aid of the reinforcements, but before the Ultramarines could secure a dropsite they were attacked by a group of Legio Mortis Chaos Titans.[1b]

It was only due to the intervention of the Fortunata Imperiatrix, that not all of the Ultramarines were killed and thanks to Marnoc's efforts the reinforcements were able to land.[1b] Trask and the Ultramarines then moved to retake Rogsburg with the aid of Imperial Titans. However the city was held by the Thousand Sons, who were able to repel several of the Imperial forces' attacks. In their next attempt, the Imperials sought to seize Rogsburg's Bromium Refinery and the Lexicanium joined their efforts to do so. As they advanced towards the Thousand Sons' battle lines, Trask was envious that the Assault Marine Kane would be able to reach the Traitors in the Refinery first, due to his Jump pack. However as the Lexicanum finally neared the Thousand Sons' forces, he began to wonder if this was the Traitors' last stand for the Refinery or if the Ultramarines were entering a trap. However despite his concerns,[2] Rogsburg was retaken by the Imperials and afterwards, Trask oversaw the ceremony that denounced their slain foes and burned their banners. During the ceremony, though, the Legio Astorum Princeps Kurtz spat on one of the enemy banners that was being burned. While the Ultramarines that had placed it in the fire remarked that Kurtz was being disrespectful, the Lexicanium said nothing and continued speaking. Kurtz meanwhile ignored them all and left the ceremony.[1b]
