Vigil Opertii

The Vigil Opertii are the secret police of Ultramar.[1]
Formed during the Great Crusade by Roboute Guilliman, the highly secretive agency has custodianship over the Ultramar Defence Auxilia and is made up of Aspirants who failed to join the ranks of the Ultramarines. Operating as a shadow arm of Ultramar's military regime, the agency silences threats uncovered throughout the Realm and maintains political stability.[1]
During the Horus Heresy, the Vigil Opertii was commanded by Valentus Dolor.[1] It is still existent in the Age of the Dark Imperium, forming a part of Ultramar's internal defence agencies alongside the Praecental Guard.[2]
