The Praecental Guard was the law enforcement organisation of Ultramar during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy. An all-Human force dressed in silver and grey steel armour, the Guard primary was equipped with Lasguns, Plasma Guns, and Power Swords.^[1]

The Praecental Guard still exists in M42 and it is considered to be an elite force.^[2] Alongside the Vigil Opertii, the law enforcement organisation is a part of Ultramar's internal defence agencies.^[4] The Guard also has a Naval Division, who serve aboard the Ultramarines' warships and are armed with Energy Pikes.^[3]
