Voke (General)
Voke was an Astra Militarum General, who took part in the Sabbat Worlds Crusade.[1]
History
He was among the Crusade's forces that fought the Blood Pact on Gnostes. There, Voke had command of several Regiments, which held the city of Lodden against the Heretics. As the Blood Pact advanced on the city, the General extended his Regiments so that they faced the entire Heretic horde. Voke did so, in order to let his Regiments engage the Blood Pact on every front, but this left them vulnerable. When the Heretics began overrunning portions of Voke's own battle line, his forces were too overextended to stop them. Soon his line started to completely collapse and Voke ordered his forces to retreat, leaving Lodden to the Blood Pact. As the remnants of his Regiments raced to escape before the Heretics caught them, Voke evacuated aboard an Arvus Lighter with his command staff. The General did, however, offer a seat to the Royal Volpone 50th Major Vasquez Regara, but he refused. The Major believed a high ranking officer needed to stay in order to coordinate the Guardsmen's withdrawal. If that would not be the Voke, then it fell to him to do so. [1]
