Ybaric Cluster
The Ybaric Cluster is a star cluster holding multiple Maiden Worlds. The Ybaric Cluster lies on the galactic Eastern Fringe, just beyond the eastern fringe of the Imperial Vidar Sector, and is somewhere north of the nascent Tau Empire.[1]
History
Sometime in M33 or M34, the alliance of Craftworlds Iyanden and Biel-Tan crushed Chaos incursions, reunited with lost Exodite Worlds, and rediscovered lost Maiden Worlds. The Ybaric Cluster was one such location. The Exodites of the Ybaric cluster shared much long lost knowledge with Iyanden and pledged many thousands of Dragon Knights to their struggle.[2a]
Sometime prior to M37, warpstorms enveloped the Ybaric Cluster and severed all contact between the Exodite Worlds within from their craftworlder allies. Iyanden's Seer Council became concerned by this silence and sent expeditions through the Webway in an attempt to reestablish contact, but none ever returned. Eventually the Council reluctantly gave up on attempts to contact their Exodite allies until the Warp storms faded.[2b]
Hive Fleet Naga
In 801.M41 Hive Fleet Naga descended upon the Ybaric Cluster. Warp Storms isolated the cluster from any observation or interference from the Imperium. Few Imperial worlds were touched by this conflict, while the Eldar lost two Maiden Worlds and seven Exodite Worlds. Nearly three dozen other minor alien civilisations were extinguished by the hive fleet. One such interplanetary alien empire that experienced heavy losses was the Ulumeathic League, which lost at least four colony worlds and their throne world.[1]
Eventually the Warp storms finally faded enough for contact between Craftworld Iyanden and the Ybaric Cluster Exodites to be reestablished.[2c] In 808.M41, the Exodite World of Halathel would send out a call for aid from nearby Craftworlds once they were made aware of the threat as it began heading towards their world. Craftworlds Iyanden, Malan'tai, and Idharae responded quickly. Arriving in 810.M41, their initial void battle upon arrival split Hive Fleet Naga into two tendrils. The final battles would take place on Halathel in 811.M41, then Eth-aelas in 812.M41. The Eldar ultimately claimed victory after vanquishing the Hive Tyrants and all the bioships of the two respective tendrils.[1]
Known Worlds
- Crimsonfall — Despite having an Imperial Guard presence, the planet was consumed by Naga in 801.M41.[1]
- Eth-aelas — Maiden World. The final site of the battle where the second half of Naga was destroyed in 812.M41.[1][2]
- Halathel — Exodite World. Scoured of life after the first half of Naga was defeated in 811.M41.[1][2c]
- Tar-Etenil — Exodite World. Consumed by Naga in 801.M41. The death throes of their Worldspirit resulted in a psychic shockwave crippling the worldspirits of several nearby Exodite Worlds, making them easy prey for Naga.[1][2]
- Tern — Hive World. Swiftly consumed by Naga in 802.M41 after spending most of their resources aiding Crimsonfall.[1]
- Silax — Imperial World. Coremost world of the Ybaric Cluster. In 801.M41, the genestealer Cult of Veiled Oblivion grew in prominence. Consumed by Naga in 808.M41 after Tern's consumption.[1]
- Varreyan — Location of a vast complex of space docks. Received genestealer infiltrated refugee ships of the Ulumeathic League. In 801.M41, a vast complex was destroyed from orbit by Varreyan home fleet not long after learning of genestealer infestation.[1]
