Zimmer is a Space Marine of The Metatron, who is in training with the Chapter's Chaplaincy. As with many of the Chapter's veterans, Zimmer has served in the Deathwatch and even after returning to his Chapter, he is entitled to wear black and silver armour.^[1]

• In the Warhammer Community article showcasing the characters' models, the Chapter's creator (Johan Egerkrans) notes that he named the characters after famous composers.^[1] Zimmer is therefore likely named for Hans Zimmer, a well-known film composer.
