Nob leaders and heavy weapons like the big shoota, burna, or rokkit launcha need to be purchased separately in metal or kitbashed. The 3rd edition Ork codex is the first Ork codex to have Shoota Boyz as a distinct unit from Slugga Boyz. In previous editions, Boyz mobs could be equipped with bolters, which is functionally identical to a shoota. |

| + | ** {{Endn|Note 9b}} Both of these units can be made from 4th edition modular plastic Ork Boyz kit. They are designed with the same modular system as the 3rd edition Space Ork Boyz kit. The 4th edition kit only has enough legs to make 11 minis. The sprues and the plastic mixture are redesigned, and the kit has an additional sprue which allows you to build a Boy with either a big shoota or a rokkit launcha; or a Nob which has a special torso which fits onto the regular boy legs and can be given a slugga and choice of a choppa or a power klaw. | ||

Rogue Trader (1987-1993)
Pre Rogue Trader (1986-1987)
Notes
- Note 1: Some models were released before the actual release of Rogue Trader but should probably be counted as part of the 40k Ork range or were later sold within it.
- Note 2: Spotter without helmet seems to exist as a model but has so far not been sourced in an official publication.
- Note 3: Model reuses parts of the Megabot model and another model released for Squats but has so far not been sourced in an official publication.
- Note 5: first modular completely plastic boys kit
- Note 6: Space Crusade: There were 8 Orks, 2 of each design and There were 14 Gretchin, 2 of each design plus 2 extra, included in the box.
- Note 7: Not seen before the 1998 Citadel Miniatures Annual catalogue, but model number and style suggests was part of this release of Freebooterz.
- Note 8: A second similar Storm Boy exists as a model but is not depicted in any catalogue or magazine.
- Note 9: Both of these units can be made from 3rd edition modular plastic Space Ork Boyz kit, which contains enough legs and bodies for 16 miniatures with a variety of arms and head to mix and match.
- Note 9a Each of these units is intended to be made using a metal upgrade sprue of parts put onto the 3rd edition Plastic Space Ork Boyz kit.
- Note 9b Both of these units can be made from 4th edition modular plastic Ork Boyz kit.
- Note 10: Part of the Marauder/Citadel collaboration.
- Note 11: An eighth Squig appears in the 1993 North American Citadel Miniatures Catalog Warhammer 40,000 B page 28.
- Note 12: Squigs displayed in the Tyranid portion of the 1992 catalogue but probably released earlier.
- Note 16: Exists as a model, reported as a buyable at Games Day 2010, not pictured in any publications.
- Note 17: Re-Release of selected metal models in Finecast starts by June 2011.
- Note 18: In box set Baddruck's Flash Gitz.
- Note 19: Released as AoS model but with Rules for 40k.
- Note 20: Given to attendees of AdeptiCon in March 2026. Will probably be part of the launch box for 11th edition but was released before the end of 10th.
