Shuriken Catapults are a type of Eldar Shuriken Weapon.[1]
Overview
The standard type, firing razor-sharp monomolecular discs capable of slicing through flesh and penetrating a considerable thickness of plasteel armour. Humans sometimes refer to these weapons as star slingers or just slingers or sling guns, while its Eldar name is tuelean.[2] The shuriken catapult is the basic weapon of the Guardians, the citizen-militia of the Craftworlds, and is incorporated to certain other systems such as Eldar Jetbikes.[1]
In the ancient days of the Eldar during the War in Heaven, Shruiken Catapults resembled crossbows and did not have their acceleration arrays enclosed like modern-day models.[6]

Shuriken Catapult in First Edition[4]
- In the First Edition of Warhammer 40,000, a Shuriken Catapult appeared that was different to their modern appearance. It possessed two polar fins positioned laterally near its muzzle, which were the source of the magnetic vortex accelerating the discs. The magazine was a flat and circular extension, commonly stationed in horizontal plane, while noted to sometimes being positioned vertically. While also noted as sometimes possessing additional fins, the exact description of them wasn't specified nor illustrated.[4] This design was later referenced in the novel Archmagos as a design dating back to the War in Heaven.[6]
