Along with his twin Subha, Asubha was one of the Astartes assigned to the Crusader Host when the Horus Heresy broke out. At that point, Rogal Dorn ordered the Host be captured, and Yasu Nagasena led a force of 3,000 men to that aim, resulting in the surviving Astartes' imprisonment in Khangba Marwu.[1b]
He was one of the Astartes who escaped from the prison, and Atharva saw him as the "assassin" to his brother's "butcher".[1b] More circumspect than his fellow World Eaters, he was willing to entertain the possibility that their Legion might not be worthy of their loyalty anymore.[1c] Technically minded, he had been selected for Techmarine training before his assignment to the Host and was the one to figure out the hunters were spying on the Outcast Dead through Kai Zulane's augmetic eyes.[1d]
When the Palace's hunters assaulted the Temple of Woe where the Outcast Dead had cremated their fallen comrades, Asubha and his brother went against Saturnalia Princeps Carthagina of the Legio Custodes. After the Custodian killed Subha with several bolter shells in the chest, Asubha flew into a rage and managed a mutual kill before lying to die next to his brother.[1e]
