Aun Helwintr
Aun Helwintr was the senior Rune Priest of the Space Wolves' Tra Company, during the Great Crusade[1a] and the Horus Heresy.[1b]
History
As a new inductee into the Tra Company, Helwintr took part in the campaign against the Olamic Quietude, which saw the death of the senior Rune Priest Ulvurul Heoroth. In the aftermath of their successful battle, the Company's Wolf Lord, Ogvai Ogvai Helmschrot, selected Helwintr to replace Heoroth as Tra's senior Rune Priest.[1a] He also became the primary caretaker of the Skjald Kasper Hawser and later took part in the Council of Nikaea and the Horus Heresy's Burning of Prospero.[1b]
During the battle on the Thousand Sons' Homeworld, however, Helwintr sensed that terrible forces had been released in Prospero's temple precinct. He sought to destroy it and gathered the Dreadnoughts Patrekr and Cormek Dod to confront the threat, along with two dozen Silent Sisters, who were led by Knight-Commander Jenetia Krole. The threat was soon revealed to be a Daemon shaped like the Warmaster Horus, which had attacked and was about to kill the badly wounded Space Wolf Bjorn and the Skjald Hawser. Helwintr and the Dreadnoughts attacked the Daemon before it could do so, but the Daemon survived and was unharmed. It was only when Krole and her Sisters of Silence arrived, that their attacks began to have an impact. Thanks to the Sisters' Null abilities, the Daemon was soon overwhelmed by the Dreadnoughts' attacks and it was finally destroyed.[1c]
