The Battle for Angelus Prime was a battle fought between the Ultramarines and the forces of Chaos on the Shrine World of Sanctoria.[1a][2]

Overview

The Battle for Angelus Prime.

An'ggrath the Unbound, the greatest of Khorne's Bloodthirsters, descends upon the empire of Ultramar. Attacking the shrine world of Sanctoria, Anggrath and his Daemonkin besiege the Ultramarines Chapter within the towering city of Angelus Prime.[1a]

Surrounded on all sides by a sea of foes, Marneus Calgar and his noble Ultramarines must fight for their very lives. Bolters roar in their hundreds as the defenders of Ultramar hurl back their traitorous foes and Marneus Calgar directs the battle with the skill of a born leader.[1a]

Yet An'ggrath is coming for Calgar's skull...[1a]

Diorama

There is also a diorama of the same name exhibited at Warhammer World.[1a][2]

This display was originally built over a 9 month period by a team of 10 modelers and painters. Added to on multiple occasions (it started before Primaris Space Marines were a thing),[3] it contains over 5,500 Citadel and Forge World miniatures, and well over 1,200 assorted Warhammer 40,000 scenery kits. At over 22 feet in length, 12 feet in width and almost 20 feet high, it's the biggest diorama Games Workshop has ever produced to date. The display comprises 34 separate sections, and was only fully assembled for the first time in its final location.[1b]

Each day a new Assassin is hidden within the diorama. The first visitor to spot the miniature wins their own version of the Assassin.[1c]
