The mortal armies that march under the Ruinous Powers deploy a wide range of war machines.[3] The Imperium is perpetually beset by rebellion, and such rebels and renegades often come from within the Imperium, thus their equipment may be Imperial in nature[6] Many are former Planetary Defense Forces trained almost on par with the Astra Militarum, and maintain those machines they were in possession at the time they turned against the Emperor[3] Others are stolen by renegades from the armories of loyal PDF itself[2] or looted from long buried storage facilities originally established by the Imperium to fulfill a need to rapidly mobilize defense. They may find vehicles that long since fallen out of use by M41 or rarely fielded from the deep storage facilities of the Departmento Munitorum. Other renegade have been reported fielding patterns of vehicles never before seen, tempting the Adeptus Mechanicus to send Explorator missions on the hunt for possible STC systems or to find out if the renegades have gained access to imprints unknown anywhere else.[3]
A smaller number of renegade armies have access to more specialized machines, such as Valkyrie's or Sentinels, with systems beyond most lay-technicians to service, and are kept functional by the efforts of fallen Hereteks of the Dark Mechanicus, inevitably twisting them beyond recognition to their original pattern. Cogitator-assisted targeting devices may be replaced by hideous pulsating daemon-thigns, while reactor cores are powered not by conventional fuels but sacrifices and even the warp itself.[3] Some vehicles kept in storage by the Departmento Munitorum in continent-sized vaults have numerous rites of activation forgotten by any loyal Techpriest, yet are activated by the work of outcast hereteks and warpsmiths of the Traitor Legions.[3]
This list provides explicit examples shown or stated to be used by Chaos renegade forces. Though, just as Chaos is ill defined, Chaos Renegades are not strictly limited to those equipment shown here.

Ranged Infantry Weapons
Chaos Renegades have access to myriad of nonspecific firearms, which include an array of fiendish weapons which defy strict categorization, examples including warp-fueled arquebuses and or semi-organic machine-pistols. When massed together such weapons provide rapid-fire capability, though they may have a tendency to overheat much like plasma guns.[2].
In addition, Chaos renegades have access to these specific ranged weapons:

The Horus Heresy
During the Horus Heresy, forces of the Imperial Army (including the Imperialis Militia and the Solar Auxilia) swore to Warmaster Horus Lupercal, turning against the Emperor of Mankind and the Imperium and fighting for the forces of Chaos alongside the Traitor Legions. It is stated in general that most vehicles of the Solar Auxilia/Imperialis Militia could be found among those traitors to the Imperium.[10] A full list of those vehicles can be found here:
