Court Extraordinary
The Court Extraordinary are Blood Angels who serve the Chapter's High Chaplain and aid him with bringing peace to the Sons of Sanguinius that fall to the Black Rage.[1b]
Description
Chosen by the High Chaplain, they act as councilors in these matters[1b] and travel with him aboard the Chaplain's personal warship, the Eminence Sanguis[1a]. The Court Extraordinary also serve as the High Chaplain's naysayers, when it comes to his decisions on how he will fulfill his duty. Only up to 3 Blood Angels are allowed to serve in the position and they must include a Sergeant, a Sanguinary Priest and Librarian. These conditions were set during the tenure of High Chaplain Barachiel and, in the 3,000 years since his decision to do so, they have become part of the Blood Angels' traditions. However, a position is allowed to remain empty, should one of the Court Extraordinary be slain and the High Chaplain is unable to find a suitable replacement.[1b]
