Damas Ghoryl
Damas Ghoryl is a Dreadblade Knight, who pilots the Knight Despoiler Woe Seeker.[1]
Biography
Before her fall to Heresy, she was originally a member of House Forrost and held the titles of the Thrall-flayer of D'anesh and Mistress of the Noctilucent Fyrd. However, this ended when Ghoryl was declared a traitor for murdering two of her High King's heirs, whom she claimed were worthless fops. By killing them, Ghoryl had hoped to rid Forrost of the decadent inertia she felt was impacting the House. Her assertions of the murdered heirs did not dissuade House Forrost from sending its forces after Ghoryl, who was defended by her loyal Bondsmen. As her pursuers began circling Ghoryl, she realized that her murders had come too late - the rot of decadent inertia was eroding Forrost of what had once been a House of iron-willed warriors. This led her to abandon it and Ghoryl then casually sacrificed many of her followers, so she could escape Forrest's grasp. Afterwards, Ghoryl turned upon the Imperium and became a Dreadblade Knight, who began to forge a path of destruction worthy of her lightning-blazoned Knight Despoiler Woe Seeker.[1]
In the years since, Ghoryl has struck like a thunderclap as she razed Forge Moons, ambushed Imperial landing sites, plundered millennia-old techno-archives and slaughtered Imperial and Xenos forces in their dozens. However, after she witnessed the decline of House Forrost, Ghoryl came to despise inactivity, worthless posturing and superfluous greed. So much so, that when the Dreadblade perceives even a suggestion of failure or caution, she ruthlessly stamps it out and moves on without pause. Because of this, Ghoryl's temporary pacts with Kholesh Gertz's Black Legion Warband, the Chaos Cultists known as the Radiant Disciples of Nonavoth and the Traitor Guard of the Dethlan 223rd Pioneer Corps have become infamous for their brevity and their bloody conclusions. Inevitably each ally displayed caution or inactivity during a battle, which led Ghoryl to turn upon them. When this occurs, the Dreadblade will strike down those she feels are responsible for the delay and will then lead or force the survivors into battle. As they willingly or fearfully charge in front of her, Ghoryl will follow firing at their foes and looking upon her allies for the next lapse in judgement.[1]
