"Our war is not one of battlefields and fleet engagements. It is waged by the dedicated agents of the Imperial Inquisition. It is fought in the cities and hives of the Imperium. In the backstreets and the forgotten sub levels. In hive-cites like Tertium. For if the Inquisition fails... if we fail... the Imperium falls with us."[2]

Shipmistress Brahms[2]

Shipmistress Emora Brahms a famous Rogue Trader of the powerful House Brahms. Her merchant voidship, the Mourningstar, is currently hosting the warband of Inquisitor Grendyl, acting as a base of operations in the war for Atoma Prime.[1]

Her fame is that of a seasoned Rogue Trader who has lead an interesting life and is also deep within Grendyl's counsel. However she would not be assisting Grendyl upon Atoma Prime if she had the option to leave.[5]

Emora and Grendyl appear to have a long history of her being on the Inquisitor's close council and being friends. Brahms accepts Grendyl's request for aid partially out of friendship, as well as the Inquisitor calling in a substantial favour the Rogue Trader owes. As such, she assists Grendyl's mission in earnest, but she grows weary.[5] Grendyl's warband has been aboard the Mourningstar using it as a staging point and base of operations of the war in Tertium for some time. House Brahms isn't known for servitude, and Emora is no exception.[3]

Brahms dislikes Inerrogator Iven Rannick, who leads the warband in Grendyl's absence.
