Gydisk Tertius was a world of the Imperium. It was the third planet of the Gydisk System, located in the Pankallis Sub-sector.[1b]

Overview
Gydisk Tertius once served as a recruiting world for the Death Strike Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes.[1d]
In addition, the planet was known to raise Imperial Guard Regiments known as the Gydisk Tertius Maulers.[1c]
History
In early M42, the Octarius War threatened to spill out of the Octarius warzone and breach the Cordon Impenetra. The tyranids of Hive Fleet Leviathan swarmed through the Pankallis Sub-sector, including the worlds of the Gydisk System.[1a]
A number of Imperial forces responded to the incursion, including the Space Marines of the Atlantian Spears[1b] and Death Strike Chapters - the latter were motivated by the planet's status as one of the Chapter's recruiting worlds, but also took action against the tyranids on the neighbouring Agri World of Gydisk Quartas.[1d]
On seeing the situation on Gydisk Tertius, the Death Strike extracted the potential recruits that their Chapter were training on the world and their supply of gene-seed.[1d]
Despite the Imperials' efforts, however, the Gydisk system was eventually declared lost (although resisting elements remained active in the system).[1a]
Geography
Gydisk Tertius was covered in ironbeech forests. These were largely consumed by the tyranids.[1a]
