Iskhandrian was a Captain-General of the Atraxian Regiments active in the late 300's.M41.[1a]

Biography

By 397.M41 Iskhandrian had developed a good war record, notably fighting against the orks on a number of occasions. However, he also had a reputation for dogmatism. In addition, he tended to lay the blame for his own mistakes on his subordinates.[1b] He had overall command of the Astra Militarum forces in the Kalidar War.[1a]

At one point in the war, following a string of victories by Imperial forces against the orks of Waaagh! Gratzdakka, Iskhandrian hosted a banquet aboard the Command Leviathan Magnificence.[1a] However, a Blood Axes warband used a sandstorm raging over the plains to attack the Magnificence and the troops stationed nearby. The orks were repelled, but not before inflicting serious damage to the Leviathan and a number of the Militarum's tanks and killing several officers.[1a][1b] Afterwards, Iskhandrian had charges filed against a number of officers for unacceptable inflexibility in the face of the ork attack.[1b]

Trivia

  • The character's name may be based on Iskandar or Iskander, Persian renderings of the name Alexander which were originally used to refer to Alexander the Great.

Notes

  • At one point in the source, the character's name is given as Iskhandria.[1a] This is presumably an error.
