Jaro Berne
Jaro Berne was a Guardsman of the 22nd Armageddon Steel Legion regiment. He served during the Third Armageddon War under Captain Veit Morena, acting as the gunner for the Leman Russ Vanquisher Storm of the Wastes.[1]
Biography
At one point during the war, Morena's squadron was recalled from Anaon to Hive Tartarus. They also had the honour of transporting Commissar Sebastian Yarrick, who was also returning to Tartarus, but was unable to travel by air owing to a nearby pitched battle between Imperial and Ork Aircraft. Yarrick rode with Captain Morena and his crew aboard Storm of the Wastes.[1]
At one point in the journey, the squadron spotted Ork Gargants moving towards Tartarus. Morena had Berne vox ahead to Tartarus to warn them while ordering Klaren to lead the squadron east through a hilly region, giving them cover while they detoured around the Gargants. However, the tanks were eventually seen by a number of Ork Bombers, which attacked the squadron. The tanks were destroyed, with the Storm being blown upside down in the attack, killing all of the crew and leaving Yarrick the only survivor.[1]
