Storm of the Wastes
Storm of the Wastes was a Leman Russ Vanquisher in service with the 22nd Armageddon Steel Legion regiment. It was commanded by Captain Veit Morena of the regiment's 12th Company.[1]
History
By the Third War for Armageddon, Storm of the Wastes had been in service on Armageddon itself for centuries.[1]
During the Third War, Morena's squadron was recalled from Anaon to Hive Tartarus. They also had the honour of transporting Commissar Sebastian Yarrick, who was also returning to Tartarus, but was unable to travel by air owing to a nearby pitched battle between Imperial and Ork Aircraft. Yarrick rode with Captain Morena and his crew aboard Storm of the Wastes.[1]
At one point in the journey, the squadron spotted Ork Gargants moving towards Tartarus. Morena had Berne vox ahead to Tartarus to warn them while ordering Storm's driver, Klaren, to lead the squadron east through a hilly region, giving them cover while they detoured around the Gargants. However, the tanks were eventually seen by a number of Ork Bombers, which attacked the squadron. The tanks were destroyed, with Storm of the Wastes being blown upside down in the attack, killing all of the crew and leaving Yarrick the only survivor.[1]
