Lief
Lief was a Guardsman of the Catachan CMIII Regiment.[1]
History
It was among the Imperial forces that unsuccessfully defended Lazulai from a Tyranid invasion. As the world began to fall to the Xenos, after months of warfare, the Regiment's remaining hundreds of Guardsmen were defending Cobalt Fortress under Major Wulf Khan's command. The Fortress itself was led by the Cadian 2012th General Kvelter and was one of the last left on Lazulai. However with the world deemed to be beyond saving, no further reinforcements would be sent to the surviving Imperial forces there. As Lazulai began to be devoured by the Tyranids, many of the Fortress' Guardsmen fell victim to becoming Xenos-bait. Lief was among them and this led the Guardsman to leap towards a Hive Crone climbing the Fortress's walls, while armed only with her Devil's Claw. However the massive Tyranid saw her and it killed Lief by firing a Tentaclid at her.[1]
