Lord Exultant
The Lords Exultant are charismatic Chaos Lords of the Emperor's Children Traitor Legion who are sadistic strategists and skilled fighters.[1]
Description
Known as sadistic strategists, Lords Exultant view the battlefield as an exhibition arena where only they are worthy to perform. Many Emperor's Children warbands are led by these figures, who dominate through their superior acumen, martial prowess, and cruel yet inventive imagination. Drawn from both both pre-Heresy original Emperor's Children Legionnaires or other Space Marines that have fallen to Slaanesh in the ten millennia since then, these warlords carve out warbands solely to fulfil their own needs. Easily bored with tasks they deem too simple, in battle they revel in every fresh challenge posed by their enemies.[2a]
Lords Exultant turned the natural obsession seen in the Emperor's Children into battlefield strategy, manifesting their neuroses as a heightened strategic awareness and overstimulated sensorium that allows them to out-think their rivals. Some Lords Exultant can perceive the minute vibrations of their enemies, smell trace chemical elements on the wind to tell the direction of enemy armour, or compulsively tally the enemy's dwindling ammunition.[2a]
Lords Exultant revel in proving their tactical superiority by weaving complex battle plans and use their charisma and endless imagination for cruelty to rule over other Emperor's Children. The Lords Exultant are also aided in this by wielding a wide variety of masterwork wargear, combat drugs, and having well-honed combat skills.[1] Their common weaponry includes a Bolt Pistol, Plasma Pistol, or Screamer Pistol, as well as a master-crafted Power Sword, Phoenix Power Spear, Power Fist, or Rapture Lash.[2b]
