Misery's Daughter
Misery's Daughter is a Space Hulk infested with Orks and other strange beasts.[1a]
One Adeptus Mechanicus Magellenic Class Explorator vessel, the Almagest is one of many ships making up the hulk's agglomeration of shattered hulls and wrecked reactors.[1b]
History
The first known encounter of this space hulk occurred in the 343.M38. The chartered mercantilist who discovered it bestowed the florid designation of Misery's Daughter. Since that time it had been given many other names, most often spoken as curses spat at its unwieldy bulk from the decks of warships and orbital defence platforms. Its violent emergence from the warp had preceded anarchy and death for a dozen planetary systems.[1a]
In the early Era Indomitus, weeks after the campaign against the orks that had inhabited it had been won, warships of the Battlefleet Changrit still stood as sentinels over its malformed bulk, wary that yet more terrors might spill from its misshapen hangars and darkened holds. It couldn't be destroyed, so Admiral Kroy would instead stand vigilant of any further threats to the Changrit Subsector as the space hulk loomed in the system.[1a]
Explorator Talin Sherax would arrive in the Vresta System sometime soon after to mount an expedition into the space hulk.[1a]
Composition
The wreckage of ships is made up of Imperial, Mechanicus, Space Marine, and other Xenos vessels.[1a]
- Matriovska Hesprilax - A macro-conveyor ship. The ship was evidently killed by a macro-cannon shell shrugging aside the transport's paltry armour and detonating within its fragile interior. There were many savage tears in the cargo ship's hull.[1b]
- Almagest - A Magellenic Class Explorator ship of Gryphonne IV.[1b]
- Astartes warship - A unspecified ship embedded within the outer layer of the space hulk.[1d]
- Unknown void-craft - Deep into the agglomeration’s interior a slim, needle-like void-craft apparently composed from a form of crystal that did not match any previously encountered material.[1b]
