Morghana Nathrax is the ruling Dark Eldar Succubus of the Wych Cult of the Thirteenth Night.[1a]

History

As a youth, Morghana was raised alongside Lelith Hesperax under the cruel Haemonculus Yukor. After their training was complete, the two parted ways to forge their own destiny's within Commorragh. While Lelith was fighting under the Ynnari, Morghana overthrew her Succubus Ariex Sylene to become the new leader of the Cult of the Thirteenth Night.[1a]

Upon Lelith's return to Commorragh, she discovered that Asdrubael Vect was now Morghana's patron and was supporting the Thirteenth Night against her own Cult of Strife.[1b] In the end, Lelith was issued a duel challenge by Morghana in Vect's personal auditorium for the title of Queen of the Dark City.[1c] During the subsequent duel, with Vect in attendance, a conflicted Lelith could not bring herself to kill Morghana despite having the opportunity to stab her neck. The fight escalated into a graceless wrestling match on the ground after they both lost their weapons. Lelith got on top first and badly damaged Morghana's face, but her last strike was overcommitted in a fit of rage and internal conflict, thus hitting the ground, allowing Morghana a chance to retaliate by choking her and bashing the back of her head against the arena floor. Lelith overcame this by cutting Morghana's face with a bone-deep strike of her knife, before holding her neck at her knife's edge in the next instant. Lelith offered Morghana a chance to yield, but the latter declined and managed to break free by pressing her neck into Lelith's knife, which caused serious blood loss. On their feet again, Morghana, knowing she had already lost, attempted to have Lelith finish her off by rushing towards her opponent with her blade in hand. In a turn of events, Lelith did not move despite Morghana's movements being as clear as if they had been marked out for her in glowing phosphorus to her. She could side-step and punch her knife into Morghana's head, but chose not to and remained still. Morghana stopped at the last moment, holding her blade against Lelith, and dropped her knife, questioning why she was unable to press the knife further to kill her. Lelith had come into this fight knowing that she did not want to kill Morghana, but believing that she could make herself do it. Morghana had not been truly aware of her internal conflict until the moment she was facing it head-on, at which point it had struck like a tidal wave. For this, Asdrubael Vect instead ordered Lelith and Morghana's execution. Lelith and Morghana then began to fight the assailants separately. After taking out Vect's Incubi guards and several Kabalite warriors, Lelith confronted Vect directly, enraged after witnessing Morghana being attacked by Vect in her attempt to save Lelith from Vect's blast, but only swatted away and tumbled down due to losing a lot of blood from the wound on her neck. Leith took off Vect's hand at the wrist after breaking through his force field, demanding he cease his shadow war against her. Vect agreed, but subtly warned Lelith against publicly challenging his authority.[1d] Afterwards, Lelith entered a romantic relationship with Morghana and the two agreed to an uneasy alliance.[1e]
