Morovain
Morovain was a Captain of the Blood Angels Legion, who took part in the Horus Heresy.[1a]
History
He fought in the Heresy's Siege of Terra and soon afterwards, Morovain took part in the Retaking of Luna.[1a] During the battle on the moon, the Ultramarines First Captain Verus Caspean, tasked Morovain with securing an underground hanger containing a fleet of black ships.[1b] Morovain did as he was asked, but in the wake of their Primarch Sanguinus' death,[1a] the Blood Angels were left a shell of themselves. They no longer fought with the ferocity their Legion was known for and were hesitant in battle. This caused Morovain's Blood Angels to struggle to reach the hanger and when they took too long to do so,[1b] Caspean sent an Ultramarines strike force to aid them.[1a]
The Ultramarines' Chief Librarian Titus Prayto was charged with doing so, though he was not informed of what their ultimate objective was. Along with his own Ultramarines, Prayto also took along a small Salamanders force, that was led by Atok Abidemi. Once they met with Morovain, however, the Blood Angels Captain told them he did not ask for reinforcements, and was reluctant to fight beside them. But he ultimately relented, when Prayto firmly informed Morovain of their orders to do so. At once, both Prayto and Abidemi could see the stark difference in the Blood Angels' manners[1a] and fighting abilities.[1b] Though they spoke to each other about it and questioned what could have caused it, they did bring their concerns to any of Morovain's forces.[1a][1b] While the Ultramarines and Salamanders had to come to the Blood Angels' aid several times, they all eventually succeeded in securing the hanger from the Traitors.[1b]
Once Prayto saw the black ships though, he questioned Morovain about who ordered the Blood Angels to secure the hanger. When the Chief Librarian learned it was Verus Caspean, Prayto asked himself why his Primarch, Guilliman, had not sent the Ultramarines on the mission instead. The Chief Librarian could only speculate, that the Blood Angels had been chosen so the record of the black ships' existence, would be kept out of the Ultramarines' records.[1b]
