Murder-Curse
The Murder-Curse is a Khorne warp plague that inflicts murderous bloodlust and rage into those it infects.[1]
History
The Daemon Primarch Angron unleashed the Warp plague when he destroyed the Choral Engine psychic beacon on Malakbael in M42. This was despite the efforts of Indomitus Crusade Fleet Quartus's forces and a Grey Knights strike force, led by Grand Master Drystann Cromm, to defend it. However, the amount of deaths that were inflicted during the battle and Angron's wrath completed a Chaos ritual, which caused the Engine's unleashed psychic energies to be tainted by the Blood God Khorne. The newly created Murder-Curse then swept across Malakbael's Malak System and struck anyone in its path. While Daemons were unaffected by it, mortals struck by the Warp plague were in danger of being inflicted with Khorne's bloodlust and rage. For reasons unknown, some are able to resist the Murder-Curse, but those who fall to it begin attacking anyone that is near them. Even Primaris Space Marines and the Adepta Sororitas are able to be stricken by the Warp plague as well and unwillingly become the Blood God's servants.[1] Custodians and Sisters of Silence have shown themself "reliably" immune.[2]
The howling victims of the Warp plague also exhibit blood red eyes, veins that stand out like blue-black ropes beneath their flesh and also scream the praises of Khorne.[1] Other effects have also been noted, among them: compulsive utterances of Warp-tainted nature, and gross physical mutations.[2] Some fall upon their foes with their teeth and fists, while others are still able to use their weapons or war engines. Even pilots can still control their aircraft or spacecraft, though some only do so long enough for the pilots to crash their craft into anyone they see. Also while the Murder-Curse initially causes them to act mindlessly, eventually victims who are more lucid, are able to gain mastery of their weaker or more animalistic fellows. This allows them to form packs who follow their commands and once the fighting subsides these packs could become united army for Khorne.[1]
