Raid on Greyshroud

The Raid on Greyshroud was a Dark Eldar raid on the Imperial Hive World of Greyshroud in 944.M41 by the Kabal of the Poisoned Tongue. It was overseen by Archon Aurelia Malys herself.^[1]

Overview

Hour 1: Out-system augur platforms are silenced with lance fire from Dark Eldar spacecraft, their destruction coincided with solar flare activity from Greyshroud's star. Their loss goes undetected, yet leaves the world deaf and blind.^[1]

Hour 4: Orbital Defense Platform Angel Defiant goes silent. Scourges slip undetected from the Webway, deploying haywire weaponry to knock out the platform's primary generators. Plunged into freezing darkness, their oxygen supply runs out and have no way to call for help as Mandrakes crawl from the shadows and begin their hunt.^[1]

Hours 7-8: The Imperial Navy warship Hammer of Pride investigates the loss of contact with the Angel Defiant, but never reaches its destination. It comes under attack from Razorwing Jetfighters and Voidraven Bombers, which deliver a mind-controlling puppet-plague onto the ship. The crew loses control of their own bodies as the ship collides with the headquarters of the 4th Greyshroud PDF.^[1]

Hour 9: Under the cover of the atmospheric disruption caused by the destruction of the Hammer of Pride, a force of Raiders, Ravagers, and Venoms emerge from the Webway on the continent of Morlos. With the 4th PDF wiped out, few stand in the way of the Kabal. Incubi, Kabalite Trueborn, and Scourges gleefully butcher all they find then overload the systems of Hive Morlavia's power generator. With its Void Shields down, Lady Malys' force and Hellions enter the Hive.^[1]

Hour 11-20: As the plight of Morlavia Hive spreads across Greyshroud, PDF units scramble to mobilize. On the southern continent of Larnos, Imperial reinforcements are forced to reroute after dozens of outlying systems come under attack. Valkyries from the Imperial Navy enter the battlefield but arrive too late. In several cases Imperial forces are ambushed and annihilated by Wyches and Reavers. At Hive Salarad, PDF forces rip each other to shreds when atomised combat stimms are released in a massive cloud. On the northern continent of Galmar a trio of 2nd Regiment drop-craft are destroyed by Grotesque stowaways.^[1]

Hour 21: Cut off and without reinforcements, the citizenry of Hive Morlavia are harvested by the millions. Local arbites forces manage only token resistance while the nobility lock themselves in their Hive-spires, though this does not save them. By the time Imperial reinforcements arrive, Lady Malys' forces have vanished with millions and are never seen again.^[1]
