The Poisoned Tongue is a Dark Eldar Kabal. They are a great and powerful Kabal of Commorragh, closely allied with Asdrubael Vect and the Kabal of the Black Heart.^[1b]

The Kabalites of the Poisoned Tongue are sharp of wit, with a flair for duplicity so pronounced that they can tie their rivals in knots and dissect them with words alone. They have carved their own niche in Commorragh through misleading and wrong-footing rivals, and ensuring their "allies" bear the brunt of any actual fighting. None trust this infamously sly Kabal, which is known for its duplicitous and backstabbing nature.^[2][7]

The Poisoned Tongue is known for its use of infiltration tactics, assassinations, and mass poisonings that ravage an enemy before battle is ever joined.^[5a] During their realspace raids, the Kabal put their skulls of deceit to good use. Inhabitants of the selected worlds are often supplied with false signs of an impending attack, as well as fragmented messages and fleeting signatures of Dark Eldar craft. They position their defenses as best they can to repel the impending invasion, but when the real strike comes it's where their victims least expect.^[4]

The Kabal employs an unusual amount of Trueborn, and rumour has it Archon Malys has her own mysterious patron.^[2] The most prestigious unit within the Kabal are known as the Fangs of Malys, who specialize in outmaneuvering and out-thinking their victims. They ride aboard Raiders fitted with miniaturized mimic engines in order to appear as the enemy they are currently fighting. Outside of this role, the agents of the Fangs of Malys have been known to practice all kinds of duplicities and foster civil wars within enemy factions, be it Drukhari or otherwise.^[7]
