Overview

Milak Mytar Vos of the Thirteenth Circle of Misery[3]

The Cult of the Seventh Woe are a Dark Eldar Wych Cult that is led by the Succubus Amelica Theskis. They are allied with the Kabal of the Poisoned Tongue and aided them in their raid on the Imperial hive Alarum.[1] Members of the Cult see death to be granted only once their victims have learned true agony and despair. Their name itself is a reference to an Eldar myth of how Khaine destroyed the hearth moon of goddess Lileath, a deed symbolizing the ruination of innocence and hope. The Cult takes Khaine's role in this tale, and see the mortals of the galaxy as playing Lileath in cruel instructional pageants.[5]

Bouts in the arenas of the Seventh Woe are won by the warrior who can inflict thirteen shallow but agonizing wounds upon their opponent. In realspace raids, they do not restrain themselves to thirteen and leave enemies maimed and helpless in their wake. Only when no resistance remains do they gather up their ruined prey and begin their true suffering.[5]

At one point, the Cult invaded the Khornate world of Gladius, garrisoned by World Eaters, in search of a challenge. The Wyches fought their way to the World Eaters' fang-lined fighting pits, where they engaged the Marines in duels that were faster and more vicious than almost any others that the planet's Daemon Prince rulers had ever seen before. Ultimately, most of the Wyches and the defenders alike perished in the fighting. However, Khorne was pleased by the display of carnage, and sent a rain of blood that resurrected the slain combatants. The Cult and Chaos Marines developed a bond of respect afterwards, and later joined forces in an invasion known as the Great Blood Wager of Anathema Quartus.[2]

The Cult is closely allied with the Haemonculus Coven of The Everspiral thanks to their appreciation for cruel atrocity.[5a]
