The Prophets of Flesh
The Prophets of Flesh are one of the most powerful Dark Eldar Haemonculi Covens of Commorragh. Under the command of the ancient Haemonculus Urien Rakarth, the Coven has demonstrated special interest in converting non-Dark Eldar aliens such as Tau into hideous Grotesques. They are allies of the Supreme Overlord of Commorragh, Asdrubael Vect, and the Prophets of Flesh have fought alongside the Kabal of the Black Heart in devastating joint real-space raids.[1a]

Overview
The Prophets of Flesh are the Coven of master Haemonculus Urien Rakarth himself, and are considered by most to be the most powerful and influential Haemonculi sect within Commorragh. So many aspirants seek a place in the Coven’s ranks that each of the Prophets presides over thousands of Wracks. This allows the Coven to operate dozens of laboratories and abattoir-like surgeries at once, keeping watch as their servants perform menial tasks. This also gives them ample military forces with which to conduct realspace raids for new test subjects and slaves.[6a]
Many of the Prophets also dabble in soothsaying, despite the ban on psychic activity within Commorragh. They claim they can learn the truths of the universe by interpreting the effects of the torture they inflict on others. In this regard they are quite surgical in their approach, divining through careful study how the trauma of one conflict will form a scar throughout an entire war zone. This is one of the practices that makes them so sought after by Archons, Succubi, and even fellow Haemonculi.[6a]
Upon induction into the Coven, each Wrack’s limbs will be extensively branded, tattooed or altered according to his new master’s whim. Should he impress his superiors with especially inventive acts of sadism, the Wrack will have one of his marked appendages cut off and replaced with a bare limb taken from the Prophets’ flesh libraries. Those favored few who make it to the lesser ranks of the Haemonculi will be entirely free of blemish. Though they become convinced of their own purity, the opposite is true, for in climbing the heights of status, the aspirant will have stained his soul.[2] Many of the practitioners are Black Cornucopians, being experts in plundering and organising large-scale raids. All of its members model their behavior on Uriken Rakarth.[6a]
The fleshcrafters of the Prophets of Flesh actively seek out new and alternative methods of shaping their subjects' biology, and often look to lesser races as experimental victims in these endeavors. To this end, they have expressed great interest in the new Primaris Space Marines of the Imperium. While crude by the standards of the Dark Eldar, they nonetheless make resilient warriors. Even Rakarth had his curiosity peaked by these new Space Marines. Thus, they have launched a series of raids against the Indomitus Crusade with the intent of capturing as many live Primaris specimens as possible.[6a]
Their raiding territory is the border between Segmentum Tempestus and Ultima Segmentum[4]
