Repository World
A Repository World[1] (Or Storage World) are classified as ρ-class worlds[2] which have been completely converted into giant warehouses for the Imperium's products and resources.[1]
Overview
There are many of these Departmento Munitorum ruled worlds across the Galaxy and they are essential to the Imperium's survival, as their resources supply its numerous wars. These goods are collected from worlds that have been pledged to deliver their Tithes to specific Repository Worlds, by the Lex Imperialis. The delivery of these resources are recorded by a Repository World's Munitorum Adepts and those worlds that fail to pay their Tithes, will feel the wrath of the Imperium's armed forces.[2]
Much of the labor on Repository Worlds is done by automated cargo-haulers and servitors, but they most undergo constant maintenance to ensure they work properly. Failure to do so can lead to the loss of millions of tonnes of valuable resources - as malfunctioning loader-Servitors will blankly continue to pile containers upon containers creating mountains of unmarked cargo. Should corruption or decay infect the logic routines of a Servitor workforce, portions of the world could even be transformed into industrial deathtraps filled with toxic gases and deranged, malfunctioning automatons. Regardless of maintenance, though, every Repository Worlds' deepest levels contain forgotten shipments dating back thousand of years. These ancient containers will be packed with all manner of ephemera, that will likely never see the light of day.[1]
