Scion of Plagues
The Scion of Plagues was the name given to one of the eight individuals which made up the mysterious Hand of Abaddon, an organisation within the Black Legion dedicated to reconstituting the Anathame.[1a]
The only other Chaos Space Marine on the Hand besides the Butcher King, the Scion of Plagues was a hulking putrid devotee of Nurgle armed with a massive axe and scythe. He was a member of the one of the old Traitor Legions, though it is never stated which (though Death Guard is the most likely). He was also the most recent addition of the Hand, and was least effected by its constant infighting.[1b]
During the Battle of the Stygius Gilt, the Scion of Plagues and his army of Plague Marines and Nurgle abominations confronted the Imperial forces boarding the Blackstone Fortress the Hand used as their base. His forces reaped heavy losses on the Imperials and seemed poised for victory under the Mordian Iron Guard Sergeant Magda Kesh miraculously ascended to a Living Saint and incinerated the Chaos Space Marine with holy light.[1e]
