Seneca was a Primaris Space Marine of the Ultramarines Chapter.[1b]
Biography
Early in the Indomitus Crusade, due to the Chapter's Third Company being delayed fighting a Chaos force in the Koryndil Reach, Captain Numitor directed Chaplain Helios to command a mission to the planet Quradim.[1a] Helios was given command of a contingent of Ultramarines, including Seneca, aboard the Destroyer Light of Iax. To the Chaplain's shock, the Marines he was to command were giants clad in an unfamiliar pattern of power armour. Seneca mollified Helios's concerns, however, by playing a holomessage recorded by the Ultramarines' Primarch, Roboute Guilliman.[1b]
Unit
Despite his lack of officail rank, Seneca was the informal leader of an Intercessor Squad. His fellow Intercessors (Ariston, Caprico, Kyros and Nicanor) referred to Seneca as "First", due to the fact that he was the first of the five of them to complete the Marines' training program on Mars and be placed into stasis.[1c] Following the mission on Quradim, Seneca was formally promoted to the rank of Sergeant and inducted into the Eighth Company.[1d]
