'''Roma''' was the first battle honor won by the [[Imperial Fists]] when they were the [[Emperor]]'s VII [[Space Marine Legion|Legion Astartes]]. The original battle honor, likely a banner, has long since decayed and all that remains is a ceramite icon which is considered too precious to be displayed even in the Inner [[Reclusiam]] aboard the [[Phalanx]]. At least one of the Imperial Fists' [[Space Marine Standards|Chapter Banners]] references the honor and prominently displays the name "Roma."<sup>1</sup>
It is not known for what heroic deed the Imperial Fists were awarded Roma. However, it is stated that the honor evidences the Legion's formation on [[Terra]], implying the action took place on Earth, possibly even at Rome given the name of the honor.<sup>2</sup> [[Great Crusade]].
