Some time after the [[Second Founding]], [[Nassir Amit]], [[Chapter Master]] of the newly-created [[Flesh Tearers]], led his [[Chapter]] in pursuit of a massive [[Ork]] [[Ork Vessels (List)|vessel]]. The Flesh Tearers caught up with and destroyed the vessel in the Corythos System, then descended to the fourth planet in the system to eliminate any survivors.{{Fn|1a}}
They found that almost all of the fleeing Orks had been killed by the planet's native lifeforms; they discovered that the planet was a lost [[human]] world that had bred warriors strong enough to survive against the flora and fauna.{{Fn|1c}} Amit declared [[Right of Conquest]], claiming the planet as the new homeworld of the Flesh Tearers and naming it [[Cretacia]] (from the ancient [[Baal ]] sandscript meaning '''''"Birth of Wrath"''''').{{Fn|1b}}{{Fn|1d}}
Amit would later depart Cretacia under unclear circumstances and disappear at the edge of the system, never to be seen again.{{Fn|2a}}
