Some time after the [[Second Founding]], [[Nassir Amit]], [[Chapter Master]] of the newly-created [[Flesh Tearers]], led his [[Chapter]] in pursuit of a massive [[Ork]] [[Ork Vessels (List)|vessel]]. The Flesh Tearers caught up with and destroyed the vessel in the Corythos System, then descended to the fourth planet in the system to eliminate any survivors.{{Fn|1a}}
Amit would later depart Cretacia under unclear circumstances and disappear at the edge of the system, never to be seen again.{{Fn|2a}}
In late [[M41]], a [[Space Hulk]] infested with [[Tyranid]] [[Genestealers]] materialized at the edge of the system, on a collision course with Cretacia.{{Fn|2b}} Chapter Master [[Gabriel Seth]] led his [[Space Marine Honour Guard Squad|Honour Guard]] and [[Chief Librarian]] [[Corabael]] onto the hulk to locate the Genestealers' [[Broodlord]], allowing a force of [[Death Company]] to [[teleport]] into the hulk from the [[Strike Cruiser]] ''[[Death's Cowl]]''. The Death Company Marines butchered the Genestealers, neutralizing the threat.{{Fn|2c}} While on board, Seth found Amit's helmet in a Space Marine vessel embedded deep within the hulk.{{Fn|2d}}
