A '''Space Marine Command Council''' is usually formed when two or more [[Chapter]]s of the [[Adeptus Astartes]] find themselves fighting side by side. In such circumstances, the leaders of each convene a council where they elect a leader common representative to speak for their interests. The representative is a warrior that commands the greatest respect and admiration amongst the assembled Space Marine leaders , and who is entrusted the the ultimate command of the combined forces of the Astartes assembled.  When forming it is part of an even larger armiesforce, a Command Council normally ratifies their orders of the [[Warmaster]] 's orders and act on them as they see fit. It has been unheard of for Astartes serving in a Warmaster's forces have also been known to pursue their own objectives. Occasionally, a Space Marine Command Council will decide not to raify ratify a Warmaster's command and may even openly disobey them. As such, it takes a very special kind of leader to command the respect of the leaders members of a Space Marine Command Council , and thus it being able to do so is the ultimate testament supreme vindication of a Warmaster's skill and authority if they were capable of such a feat.{{Fn|1}}
