In the [[Age of the Dark Imperium]], Cocleratum suffered from a [[heretic]] uprising that seized control of the world.{{Fn|1a}} Forces of the [[Indomitus Crusade]]{{Fn|1a}}, including a number of [[Mordian Iron Guard]] [[regiment]]s{{Fn|1b}} and the [[Cadian 217th]], arrived to liberate the planet.{{Fn|1a}}
The Mordians encountered heavier than expected resistance while trying to take the capital city of [[Elborescum]]. After some intelligence gathering, the Imperials learned that the heretics had banded together under the banner of a single individual, a [[Rogue Psyker|psyker]] called [[Speccius]]. A team of three [[Imperial Guard Sniper|snipers]] from the Cadian 217th was ordered to infiltrate Elborescum ahead of the next Imperial advance to assassinate Speccius. This team included [[Corporal]] [[Darya Nevic]], a Coclerati [[transplant]] (her officers hoping that her local knowledge would be useful during the mission).{{Fn|1b}}
