The '''Ophidian Crusade'''{{Fn|1a}}, also known as the '''Ophidian Campaign''' and '''Purge Campaign''', was a successful [[Imperial]] [[Crusade]], that was launched to retake control of the [[Ophidian Subsector]] from the forces of [[Chaos]]. It was led by [[Battlefleet Scarus]], and lasted from 240.[[M41]] to 338.M41 - a considerable achievement for the Imperium, in such a timescale.{{Fn|1b}}
The initial launch of the Ophidian Campaign in 240.M41 was delayed by the [[Helican Schism]], a mass uprising in the [[Helican Subsector]]. The uprising forced the [[Lord Militant]] [[Honorius (Warmaster)|Honorius]] to redircet redirect his gathered forces to pacify the uprising instead of embarking towards the Ophidian Subsector.{{Fn|2}}
The last action of the campaign took place at [[Dolsene]]. The crusade ended in Imperial success and the Ophidian Subsector was declared cleansed. Now a [[warmasterWarmaster]], Honorius was given the title of ''Feudal Protector'' by the [[Lord Commander|Imperial Lord Commander Helican]] [[Jeromya Faurlitz IV]] for his achievements during the campaign.{{Fn|2}}
