The '''Ophidian Crusade'''{{Fn|1a}}, also known as the '''Ophidian Campaign''' and '''Purge Campaign''', was a successful [[Imperial]] [[Crusade]], that was launched to retake control of the [[Ophidian Subsector]] from the forces of [[Chaos]]. It was led by [[Battlefleet Scarus]], and lasted from 240.[[M41]] to 338.M41 - a considerable achievement for the Imperium, in such a timescale.{{Fn|1b}}
The initial launch of the Ophidian Campaign in 240.M41 was delayed by the [[Helican Schism]], a mass uprising in the [[Helican Subsector]]. The uprising forced the [[Lord Militant]] [[Honorius (Warmaster)|Honorius]] to redirect his gathered forces to pacify the uprising instead of embarking towards the Ophidian Subsector.{{Fn|22a}}
The last action of the campaign took place at [[Dolsene]]. The crusade ended in Imperial success and the Ophidian Subsector was declared cleansed. {{Fn|2a}} During the final engagement, Imperial forces captured thirty-three level [[The Assignment|alpha]] or above [[heretic]] [[psykers]].{{Fn|2b}} Now a [[Warmaster]], Honorius was given the title of ''Feudal Protector'' by the [[Lord Commander|Imperial Lord Commander Helican]] [[Jeromya Faurlitz IV]] for his achievements during the campaign.{{Fn|22a}}
