The [[24th Ventrillian Nobles|24th]] are among the [[Imperium]]'s forces, that are defending [[Montar VII]] from an [[Ork]] invasion. However during the course of the battle there, an attack{{Fn|1a}} by the [[Goffs]] [[Warboss]] [[Skogrin]]{{Fn|1b}} separated the 24th from the Imperium's main military formation. Skogrin's horde then pursued the [[Regiment]] and the 24th's [[Imperial Guard Captain|Company Commander]], [[Stromfjord]], led them to seek refuge at the [[Grox]] farm of the Imperial citizen [[Ortan Glazer]].{{Fn|1a}} Skogrin's horde attacked shortly afterwards,{{Fn|1b}} and while he was new to the Regiment, Bauhin commanded its [[Guardsmen]] well{{Fn|1c}} and was protected by his [[Ogryn Bodyguard]] and [[Colour Sergeant]] [[Brawn]].{{Fn|1b}} Though the Orks attacked the farm in waves throughout the battle, the Ventrillians were able to kill so many of them, that the Warboss retreated from the farm.
