Stone (Lord Commander)
Stone is an Astra Militarum Lord Commander.[1]
History
In M42, his Sector Command included the defense of the Imperial world Lazulai, when it was invaded by Tyranids. It was ultimately overrun, however, and was declared to be lost. Though no further reinforcements were to be sent, there was still an important asset on Lazulai that needed to be saved, before the Tyranids devoured the world. Stone would order General Kvelter of the Cadian 2012th Regiment to carry out this mission from her base in the Cobalt Fortress. It was one of the last fortresses left on Lazulai, and Kvelter sent out several heavily armed groups to reach the asset. Despite their might, each group was destroyed before they could come close to the asset's distant location however.[1]
When an overwhelmingly force of Tyranids was later discovered to be heading towards the Cobalt Fortress, though, Lord Commander Stone ordered a final attempt to be made to recover the asset. But since her heavily armed groups had been quickly destroyed, the General decided to send out a group that would not be noticed by the Xenos. Kvelter would chose Major Wulf Khan and her Catachan CMIII for the mission, as they could traverse the hellscape the Tyranids had turned Lazulai into.[1]
