Location stuck as Eastern Fringe

The location box in the Sept template says "Eastern Fringe" rather than "Unknown". I have found that I am unable to change its value from "Eastern Fringe" to something more accurate when editing either this page or other Tau Sept pages. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to resolve it?

My thinking is that "Eastern Fringe" as the boiler plate location for all the Sept worlds is far too vague because the Eastern Fringe covers a massive part of the galactic map. The Tau Empire is quite small so it is possible to be far more specific. The exact and approximate location of many of the Sept worlds in relation to the Tau home world is also shown in literary sources. Furthermore, the Tau's 5th Expansion Sphere is in a very different part of the Eastern Fringe and is divided from the original Empire by the Great Rift. One part of the Tau Empire is now in the Imperium Sanctus and another part in the Imperium Nihilus. I think that all of this means a more nuanced answer to the location of the Sept worlds is both possible and appropriate.

Any help is resolving this would be very appreciated

Eastern Fringe is the default velue of the field "Segmentum", which you can see in the 16th line: "|align=center|Eastern Fringe". However, that field was not included in the nowiki of the page, so it's not your mistake in not seeing it. Should you want to edit the field on a relevant page simply include and additional line with "|Segmentum=Lorem Ipsum"
I am personally okay with the default value, but the current implementation is prone to misinformation, so if you would like to edit the template to "|align=center|Unknown" AND edit every Sept page, I would support that action. --Zap1000x (talk) 05:02, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
