Thrass
Thrass was an Imperial Fists Captain, who took part in the Great Crusade.[1a]
History
He was among the Legion's forces that took part in the Night Crusade into the Occluda Noctis, where Thrass commanded the Battleship Torch of Sol[1a]. At that time, he had recently received his Captaincy and had been personally selected by his Primarch Dorn, to command one of the Imperial Fists' flotillas. These small formations of Legion and Imperialis Armada warships were charged with acting as a vanguard for the Imperial Fists and would guide the main fleet to anything of interest they discovered[1c]. Thrass would be carrying out his duties, when his flotilla entered a Human occupied System. With information provided by the Carrefiefdom empire, which had recently been brought into Compliance, the Captain was sure the System was ruled by another Human empire, known as the Damareen Consensus.[1a]
Thrass was the first to encounter them and broadcasted an offer for the Damareen to join the Imperium. This offer was rejected, however, when the empire's warships attacked his flotilla. As per the Imperial Fists' standing orders for hostile first contact with the Occluda Noctis's Human civilizations, the Captain gave the order to retreat. However several of Thrass' warships were lost to the Damareen, before the flotilla returned to the Legion's main fleet. The Captain would soon bring word of the Damareen's attack to his Primarch[1b] and Dorn led the Imperial Fists in conquering the Damareen.[1c]
