Ultramar High Guard

The Ultramar High Guard, known in High Gothic as the Ultramar Accensi, was a collective term for Solar Auxilia units raised in Ultramar during the Great Crusade-era.^[1]

The most prestigious units of the Ultramar Auxilia, the High Guard were used as void-defense garrisons above key worlds within Ultramar. They also acted as standard troop compliments aboard warships of the Ultramar fleet and would frequently accompany Ultramarines units in Expeditionary Fleets during the Great Crusade. However the greatest challenge the High Guard would ever face would be to combat Lorgar's Shadow Crusade during the Horus Heresy.^[1]
