Valedor was a Cardinal World of the Imperium[1] and a Maiden World the Eldar, named Dûriel.[3][6]
History
The planet Valedor was overwhelmed by the Tyranids of the Hive Fleet Leviathan in 997.M41. The local populations, and a battle barge of the Iron Lords Chapter were destroyed and only a small contingent of the Order of the Sacred Rose escaped.[1]
Red Death of Dûriel
Later (in 778.999.M41), Eldar forces from Biel-Tan, Iyanden, and Dark Eldar forces destroyed the planet via the use of an arcane device known as the Fireheart to prevent it from being absorbed by Leviathan. Thus preventing the union of Hive Fleets Kraken and Leviathan. This was known as the Red Death of Dûriel.[2][6] The planet's destruction released the Crystal Tome of Cegorach, which was recovered by the Harlequins.[5]
