The Shield Chapters of Ultramar are ten[1] Ultramarine-descended Chapters that Lord Commander Guilliman has charged with permanently defending the Realm of Ultramar. In order to perform their duties, each Shield Chapter has command of a world within Ultramar to use as their base of operations.[2]
